What could be a reason for the slave cylinder not to be deploying all the way?
crissevenfold asked:
I have a 89 ford ranger and it used to be an auto. i put a four speed out of a 83 ford ranger and used the original clutch and slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder at first. those didnt work so i bought a new slave cylinder. no luck. after that i thought that the plunger from the master cylinder may not be reaching far enough so i got one from a salvage yard. no luck. it might be leaking a little air but im positive all the air is out of the system and there is no more coming up. Idk what to do. it is an external slave cylinder. please help

there is a difference in a 83 and a 89 ford transmission. check out a local transmission shop

You may have to make a longer push rod for the slave cylinder.
It's a ford thing.
